My memory is of the great Dr Kath Winning…a caring, highly qualified paediatrician. She had time for everyone, and respected every single mother for their roles as new mums alone. A gorgeous, very no nonsense doctor, she really took Tresillian through the 70s. Note she was one of the first female medical graduates from Sydney Uni early on, and she brought her Ormond Street Hospital training back from London. She also had a lot to do with recognising Rubella as a risk factor for infant blindness, but was never really formally recognised for her research at the time. Just a lovely woman, and an expert doctor when it came to babycraft!
